The 2011 Write Stuff Conference

How many people have heard this maxim?  If you’re ready to take your writing to the next level seek out Donald Maass’ expertise with his acclaimed books on the craft of writing and if you can, attend the workshops he teaches worldwide.  Well, the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group is happy to announce Donald Maass is their 2011 Write Stuff keynote speaker and he will be leading two pre-conference workshops “Writing the Breakout Novel” and “Fire in Fiction.”  And because these two workshops are bundled, the price is a remarkable $150.

This conference presents many opportunities for writers to learn and grow.  Independent editor and owner of Third Draft NYC and 2011 Write Stuff presenter, Lisa Rector-Maass, like her husband, Donald Maass has taught workshops worldwide.  She will be holding preconference workshop “Sagging Middles” showing writers how to lift the middle of a story by heightening subtext and tension, enlivening voice and renewing conflict.  A two hour conference workshop on Interviewing Techniques and Strategies for both fiction and nonfiction will be led by New York Times Bestselling author Jonathan Maberry and celebrated nonfiction writer Janice Bashman.  From finding the heart of the story to third draft issues, the conference’s 18 concurrent sessions and 13 presenters are bound to provide insight and inspiration.

Another bit of exciting news, the conference has expanded its team of literary agents from five to six with two editors as well providing more appointments for conferees.

The 2011 Write Stuff Conference and preconference workshops run from March 24 -26, 2011 at the Four Points Sheraton, Allentown PA.  To register and/or for more information please go to their website http://glvwg.org/ or http://glvwgwritersconference.blogspot.com/  or contact Tammy Burke, Conference Chair at Writestuffchair@glvwg.org
