Pennwriters Fiction Writing Intensive Workshop with Martha Johnson

Pennwriters is offering a Fiction Writing Intensive Workshop prior to the 2009 Pennwriters Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hone your craft!


Who:  Fifteen writers in any fiction genre who have finished first drafts of manuscripts and want to take their writing to another level by focusing on:

– in-depth characterization

– sound plotting

– the power of viewpoint

– strong dialogue and dynamic scenes

– emotional structure and meaning


What:  A day’s worth of fiction writing instruction that includes direct feedback on your work during an intensive seminar from multi-published author Martha Johnson.


When:  Thursday, May 14, 2009, 9am to 4pm


How:  Apply by sending the first five pages (double-spaced) of your manuscript plus a two-page (single-spaced) synopsis with your registration coupon by February 2, 2009 to Annette Dashofy, Pennwriters Conference Coordinator.  Fifteen writers will be chosen by the instructor to participate in this workshop.  If you are chosen to participate, you will be asked to submit your first three chapters plus the workshop fee ($155 for members, $180 for nonmembers) to the Pennwriters Conference Coordinator by March 15, 2009.  Lunch will be provided for workshop participants.  Hotel rooms are $85.

Martha Johnson is the author of over thirty novels of inspirational romance and romantic suspense for Zebra, Harper, and Steeple Hill Books, and she has three women’s fiction novels coming out from Berkley Books starting in November, 2009.
